For most of my life I dreamed of living in Half Moon Bay.  Like my father, I was born at Mills Hospital and was raised ‘over the hill’.  I would bring my family to various beaches on the coast throughout their lives and I have many cherished memories of our time in Half Moon Bay.   We were able to realize our dream in 2013 and became residents of Half Moon Bay.
My work with the History Association began in 2015 and has grown in the years since. I am consistently awed by the team I am privileged to work with and the community we serve.

Sally was born and raised in Half Moon Bay. Over the years, she has donned many business hats. She started a landscaping company, managed a salmon co-op, worked on a research vessel and owned a personal concierge firm. She volunteers with the Odd Fellows, Coastside Land Trust and any place that might need a helping hand.

Scott moved to Half Moon Bay as a youngster in 1978 and has lived on the coast ever since. He has been a sports, entertainment, and real estate attorney for many years. He also finds time to volunteer with many local civic organizations and often provides pro bono legal services to members of the arts.

I was born and raised on the San Francisco Peninsula.  My childhood vacations were spent enjoying the many parks of California as well as the historic sights in the eastern US. I developed a love of history and peoples listening to one side of my family describing Yosemite and the San Joaquin Valley in the 1920’s and 30s and the other side describing the fight for independence and the role of Philadelphia in the 1700’s.  My education focussed on languages as I saw that as a means to pursue my interest in history and culture.
My early career was devoted to teaching elementary school.  I love sharing my excitement in the world with others and giving them the skills and resources they need to succeed in their own interests.  I subsequently spent  many years in the aerospace industry, focussing on supply chain, government compliance, logistics and training.  The space industry is history in the making, and being a part of it was exciting and fulfilling.
I am the docent manager for our museum. I am excited to be a part of the History Association as we expand our museum and continue to develop programs to share our love and knowledge of this community with others.

Even as a child I have always wondered about who was here before me and how they lived. When my Swiss-French father decided we would emigrate to the USA, I learned at age six that people can leave behind all they know in the hope of a better life. Over time I learned that migration has always been part of human history, and that we were part of a tradition of exploration and discovery! This led me to study history, to major in anthropology and to get a Master’s in Education. I love sharing stories, and taught high school history and French. After starting a family of my own, I went from corporate training to human resources management in a high-tech company. I was a naturalist docent at Año Nuevo for 13 years, and joined the Half Moon Bay History Association Board. As a member of our Education Committee, I have enjoyed years of giving local Third Graders insight into our Coastside history. I currently also serve as the Museum Manager and the Collections Manager, and I am proud to be part of a community effort to preserve and share our history.
